myturn2talk Service Fees

Consultation Fees
The cost of an Individual Counselling Session is $140.00*. This fee is well below the Australian Psychological Society's recommended fee of $212.00 for 2010-11. A typical session lasts for about an hour. This includes approximately 50 minutes in session plus 10 minutes for processing the payment and booking future appointments.
*A Medicare rebate of $81.60 for counselling services may apply if you are referred by your GP.

Assessment Fees
The cost of assessments depend on the complexity of the situation and the tests required and are charged at the hourly rate. Generally a Cognitive Assessment takes about four and a half hours to complete and an Educational Assessment about six hours. This time includes the pre-assessment interview, assessment administration, report and feedback session.
There is no additional charge for the assessment of behavioural and emotional competence as this forms part of the intake information when counselling is required.
Please note that Medicare does not cover psychological assessments, however you may be eligible for a rebate under your private health cover for a "long consultation". Please enquire with them directly.
Private Clients
You do not need a referral to be seen by a psychologist. Many private health care funds offer rebates for psychological services under “extras” cover. Please contact your fund to find out more about your level of cover.
Cancellations
24 hours notice of cancellation is required or a fee may be charged.
