myturn2talk Services for Preschoolers
Services for Pre-school Children
Pre-Schoolers

For many kids, attendance at preschool or kinder presents the first opportunity to test their social and emotional skills and flex both their physical and mental muscles.

This first leap into the world independent of the family unit is an important developmental stage that can raise problems that may not have been apparent earlier in their lives.

Early intervention is important and therefore we believe action is required at this critical stage.  To do this our services involve not only working independently with you and your child but consulting with teachers, carers and health nurses to fully understand the problem and make recommendations for support strategies for both school and home.

Some of the problems that occur at this time include:

  • Concerns with a child's development
  • Difficult temperament or behaviour
  • Difficulties forming friendships
  • Sleep difficulties
  • Separation anxiety
  • Low self esteem

PARENTAL SUPPORT:

A large part of helping children is focused on helping parents understand issues from their child’s perspective, recognise their role and help them find more effective ways of dealing with the problem.

Support can be as simple as having peace of mind that the problem has been identified and is being addressed, to personal engagment with a specialised psychologist who is able to provide practical parenting strategies and advice on managing emotions and behaviour.
